The Upper Trempealeau River runs through the middle of this route which sits on the eastern edge of the Driftless area. Although this route is technically on the edge, it is not lacking in hills and valleys, and resulting roads are so much fun. While the hills and valleys are not as dramatic as along the Mississippi River, they seem to be endless from the beginning to the end of The Upper Trempealeau River Route. There are several parks and other attractions along the way, but the major towns are few and far between. So be sure to top up your fuel tank when you have the opportunity.
