Aug. 19th: Red Wing Fairbault Rte (MN) + Branson Peel Ferry Loop (MO) + Video!

This week we are sharing some information about a route close to the Twin Cities, the Redwing Fairbault Route and one of our favorite routes in the Ozarks, the Branson Peel Ferry Loop!

Red Wing Fairbault Route:

The Red Wing Fairbault Route is really a tale of two geographies. One part of this route is located in and around the bluffs along the Mississippi River, between Lake City and Hastings, Minnesota. The other section of this route explores the uplands and lakes between Cannon Falls and Fairbault.

The northern section, along the Mississippi, provides many opportunities to enjoy river views. Enjoy Spring Lake Park in Hastings, Red Wing Overlook, and Frontenac State Park.

The inland section, on the other hand, takes you past some of the 10,000 lakes that Minnesota is famous for.

This route, along with the St. Croix Route, are the nearest routes to the Twin Cities and northwest Minnesota. Either route would make a great first trip for riders who are new to the Driftless area.

Branson Peel Ferry Loop:

The Branson Peel Ferry Loop is located East of Branson in Southern Missouri.

This route starts in Shadow Rock Park near Forsythe and heads South on some amazing County Roads to the Arkansas border and into Omaha, Arkansas. In Omaha, the route is a continuous string of twists and turns all the way to the Peel Ferry.

At Peel Ferry, riders cross Bull Shoals Lake and then travel back into Missouri for a nice ride through Mark Twain National Forest. This section of the ride alternates between ridge tops and valleys with plenty of curves along the entire leg.

From Oldfield, Missouri, this route twists and turns back South, through the Mark Twain National Forest almost all the way to Forsyth. Before returning to Shadow Rock Park, there is another small loop West, past the Branson Cross.

Driftless Challenge:

We are over halfway through August and there are still no entries for the August Driftless Challenge. This means that your entry has an even better chance of winning.
