The Grand Canyon South Rim Loop, located in Northern Arizona, combines an enjoyable motorcycle ride with a visit to one of America’s Great Natural Wonders, the Grand Canyon.  Starting in Flagstaff, this route travels through piney forests and desert grasslands to the South entrance of Grand Canyon National Park.

Once inside the park at Grand Canyon Village, riders can take in the spectacular views from a number of different locations.  Be sure to get the latest park information before you head out.  Some areas may be accessible by tour bus only.

Leaving Grand Canyon Village, riders follow the canyon East where there are several more pull offs and viewing points before exiting the park at the East Entrance.  From there, the terrain becomes flatter again and offers riders an opportunity to see the Little Colorado River Gorge.

This route eventually turns South and riders can experience the wide open country and endless sky of the American Southwest.  This is only interrupted by a scenic loop through the Painted Desert where you can explore several Native American dwellings and pueblos which date back over 900 years!  Explorers can also hike into the cone of an extinct volcano at Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument.

After leaving the Painted Desert, it is a short journey back to the starting point in Flagstaff.
